Voila, ça y est ! Après l’article “POETIC BLUE” décrivant mon choix de peindre ma chambre en bleu, voici enfin le résultat en images !
J’ai pris mon temps; d’abord, pour peindre, puis ensuite, pour re-peindre ! J’ai aussi investi dans quelques meubles puisqu’il me fallait au moins la base: UN LIT pour dormir, un MATELAS, des bons OREILLERS, … pour la qualité de mon sommeil ! un TAPIS tout doux pour le plaisir des petits petons le matins, et une COMMODE pour le rangement de mes vêtements.
Ah oui! et je dois dire que je suis vraiment très très contente de ces magnifiques RIDEAUX lin/coton de “La Redoute” ! Un vrai régal pour les yeux … tant pour l’esthétique que pour la lumière qui passe le matin ( ni trop, ni trop peu … juste ce qu’il faut ).
Bon, évidemment, on va pas se mentir! Je rêve d’acheter une chaise de designer, un système de penderie super design, etc… Mais là, je dois mettre mes goûts de luxe en standby (le portefeuille ne suit plus!) ! Alors, PRATICO-PRATIQUE d’abord !
Comme toujours j’ai eu un plaisir fou à décorer, à choisir chaque objet et chaque tissu, à mélanger le neuf au vieux, à dégotter ces petits trésors ici et là (du grenier à la cave … en passant par la boutique de seconde main près de chez moi).
Au cas où vous vous demandiez:
1- non, je n’ai pas peint toute la chambre. Juste un mur qui permet de diviser la pièce en 2 espaces distincts, exprès. Ceci aussi afin de casser l’effet un peu trop boho de mon style et de me pousser hors de ma zone de confort. Après tout, la décoration c’est un jeu. Il faut oser prendre des risques … et on a pas grand chose à perdre… ou plutôt beaucoup à y gagner.
2- BLEU, oui, bleu ! mais par contre… pas n’importe quel bleu ! J’ai dû essayer… me tromper… me rendre compte que vraiment le bleu, ça passe ou ça casse et que là en l’occurence, le premier essai était un véritable flop (vous connaissez la sensation d’être dans un hôpital ?) pour, finalement, en arriver à ce résultat final … Que j’adore !
3- Poète un jour, poète toujours … On parle ici de bleu – gris – anthracite. C’est ça le bleu poétique selon moi ! Il me fait penser à l’ocean un jour de pluie, Juste avant que l’arc-en-ciel apparaisse …

Choosing colours is probably the trickiest thing when making over a room. It’s either a make or break situation!
If You read the article ” poetic blue “, You know about the kind of blue I was longing for. And it wasn’t an easy one to find …
So, I’m very Happy to reveal the “final” result here !
Believe me when I say it wasn’t a piece of cake. At first It went wrong with the colour I picked and it totally looked and felt like in a hospital !! GOSH !! terrible terrible feeling ! So I went back to the shop and picked another one … in the hope it would be a winner … which it was ! And I am grateful .
After painting, I took some time to decorate and invest in some basic but really necessary pieces of furniture: a BED FRAME, a comfy MATTRESS, good fluffy PILLOWS, a soft RUG for my feet and a CHEST OF DRAWERS for all my clothes. Oh, and I will tell you about these fantastic CURTAINS. Gosh they are perfect. The mix of linen and cotton is just a dream and gives a luxurious finish to the room, while allowing the softest light to go through. Simply perfect.
Of course there is always more that can be done … I dream of a designer chair in the corner and a large modern clothes rack on the other side, etc … But for now I have to slow down on the expenses and set my luxurious tastes aside for a while… Sometimes, practicality and necessity must come first.
Again & as always, I had so so much pleasure decorating, mixing the old to the new and finding little treasures here and there…
And maybe you wonder :
1- Why did I paint one wall only ?
Well, because this blue-grey is quite strong already. I didn’t want to loose luminosity in the room and I wanted to create 2 separate spaces on purpose. Integrating a coloured wall was to break as well the overall boho look that spontaneously came up from my own personality and travels … It sometimes tends to take over and I didn’t want to overdo it.
2- I call it blue, but you might call it grey. It’s all a matter of perception … and light! As long as it isn’t a blue that reminds you of a hospital…
3- This “blue-grey” is to me the perfect POETIC BLUE: it reminds me of the ocean on a rainy day – just before the rainbow shows up…
